Nelson Showers

Brewed by Noble Ale Works
Style - Double IPA

Commercial Description: Nelson Sauvin, a hop varietal grown out of New Zealand, is the featured hop in this single-hop double IPA. This hop is a mind bender with flavors of sauvignon blanc, gooseberries, truffle and allspice. Our second release in our double IPA series that showcases our favorite hop varieties, one by one, with each consecutive release.

Editor’s Notes:  I have really enjoyed the Noble Ale Works beers I have tried, and Nelson Showers is one that I wish I had stocked up on. The aroma features nice tropical fruit without any hint of malt – it smells great. The taste fits that profile, with some delicious mango and pineapple tropical fruit hops taking the lead. Bready malt backs them up, but this beer is focused on hops. It is not an overwhelming hop experience; the bitterness in the finish is good but not great. It is smooth and tasty – another wonderful Double IPA to try if you ever come across it.
