White Rajah

Style - IPA

Commercial Description:  A West Coast style IPA full of citrus-like and tropical fruit like hop flavor and aroma with an assertive yet smooth bitter finish….malt, take a back seat please!

Editor’s Notes:  At long last – the esteemed and elusive White Rajah! A couple of years ago I was bombarded by people telling me that White Rajah is the best IPA in the land. I’ve been curious for a long while – and tonight I finally got to sample it. The aroma is of fantastic tropical fruit and citrus, with a trace of sweet malt underneath. The taste is even better, with delicious pineapple, mango, and peach hop flavors exploding on your tongue with the first drop. Bready malt sneaks in to hold things together in the middle, and grapefruit hops join the party as you swallow. The finish is very dry; there is an outstanding burst of bitterness at the beginning of the sip that reappears as you swallow. I can’t say that White Rajah is the best IPA in the land – but is it one of the best? Absolutely!

It’s the best of the best. Many IPA’s have a poor aftertaste and start to taste “differently” as you finish them up….not this one though. From the start to the finish, this exceptionally-hopped citrus-flavored ale is amazing!

Full of Citra. The nose is so enticing on this beer. Clear sharp yellow hue.

Great citrus with caramel apple and pineapple. It delivers a tremendous hop profile without burning the palate, which makes for an exceedingly drinkable beer. Fantastic !!
